Augustana College Hosts North Park Vikings


Rock Island, Ill., — Viking pitted against Viking, Augustana College and North Park University women’s basketball teams will face off in a conference matchup Saturday evening in a test of wills.

The two CCIW teams tip-off at 5:00 PM CST, on Feb. 17 at the Roy J. Carver Center. Keith Lehrman, Rocky Jones, and Royce King will be the officiating crew.

The Vikings of North Park (9-14, 4-10 CCIW) close out their season on the road, with their final two games against opponents from the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW). Coming off a tough, 60-58 loss to Elmhurst College on Wednesday, the Vikings had their senior night spoiled by the Bluejays. Looking to return the favor, North Park will visit Augustana on their senior night as teams make a late push for the post season. North Park is guided by Head Coach Amanda Crockett.

Led by Head Coach Mark Beinborn, Augustana (13-10, 6-8 CCIW) who defeated North Park back on Jan. 20, will look to pull out a victory Saturday, in the Carver Center. After falling to Millikin, 82-63 the Vikings play their final home game of the season before visiting CCIW opponent North Central.

Illinois Tech Hosts Alma College Scots


Chicago, Ill., — Tonight’s game between Robert Morris-Springfield and Illinois Tech scheduled at 5:30 PM CST, has been postponed due to the impending forecast. The contest has been rescheduled for Wednesday, February 21st at 5:30 PM.

The Illinois Tech womens basketball team returns to action Saturday, Feb. 10 to face Alma College in a non-conference match-up in the Keating Sports Center.

Gametime is at 1:00 PM CST, with Derrick McCullough, Royce King, and Joel Jerominski as your crew of officials.

The visiting Scots of Alma College (2-20, 1-13 MIAA) are members of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. After falling to conference opponent Albion College, 79-47, the Scots are looking to get a win on the road at IIT. Alma’s Emily Eldridge led all players with 20 points. The Scots are coached by Head Coach Kris Johnson.

With tonight’s game against RMU Springfield postponed, Illinois Tech (1-19) prepares for Alma, as they look to finish the regular season on a high note.

Robert Morris Springfield Visits Illinois Institute of Technology


Chicago, Ill., — The Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) women’s basketball team will host the Eagles of Robert Morris University – Springfield, (RMU) on Thursday at Illinois Tech in the Keating Sports Center.

Game time is set to begin at 5:30 PM CST, with Paul Novak, Royce King, and Dave Rafalski as your crew of officials.

Guided by Head Coach Doug Bowsher, Robert Morris Springfield is a young team that continues to develop its personnel as the Eagles are 2-14 on the season. The Eagles last saw Illinois Tech back on Jan. 20, where RMU-Springfield fell 68-52 at home. With a chance to even the score, the Eagles will take flight Thursday night against the Scarlet Hawks.

Coach Usha Gilmore and the Scarlet Hawks (1-19) battled conference opponent Andrews in a tight match-up Monday night in the Keating Sports Center. Despite forcing 22 turnovers, and pulling within two in the last seconds of the contest, Illinois Tech came up short to the Cardinals falling 62-58. The Scarlet Hawks had three finish in double-digits led by freshman Shannon O’Donnell with 22 points. IIT will host Robert Morris Springfield in the first a four game homestand to close out the regular season.
