Robert Morris Springfield Visits Illinois Institute of Technology

Chicago, Ill., — The Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) women’s basketball team will host the Eagles of Robert Morris University – Springfield, (RMU) on Thursday at Illinois Tech in the Keating Sports Center.

Game time is set to begin at 5:30 PM CST, with Paul Novak, Royce King, and Dave Rafalski as your crew of officials.

Guided by Head Coach Doug Bowsher, Robert Morris Springfield is a young team that continues to develop its personnel as the Eagles are 2-14 on the season. The Eagles last saw Illinois Tech back on Jan. 20, where RMU-Springfield fell 68-52 at home. With a chance to even the score, the Eagles will take flight Thursday night against the Scarlet Hawks.

Coach Usha Gilmore and the Scarlet Hawks (1-19) battled conference opponent Andrews in a tight match-up Monday night in the Keating Sports Center. Despite forcing 22 turnovers, and pulling within two in the last seconds of the contest, Illinois Tech came up short to the Cardinals falling 62-58. The Scarlet Hawks had three finish in double-digits led by freshman Shannon O’Donnell with 22 points. IIT will host Robert Morris Springfield in the first a four game homestand to close out the regular season.

Heritage Christian Faces Hauser Jets

Hope, Ind., — The Hauser Jets boys varsity basketball team has a home non-conference game against the Heritage Christian Eagles on Saturday, Feb. 3.

Saturday’s game is scheduled to tip at 2:30 PM EST, with Deon Smith, Royce King, and Craig Lyon as your crew of officials.

Location: Hauser Jr.-Sr. High School, 9423 N. State Road 9, Hope, IN 47246

The visiting Eagles (12-9, 0-2 CCC) led by Head Coach Corey Jackson, are coming off a 60-51 loss at Tindley. Heritage Christian looks to pick up a road win against the Jets before returnng home to host the Broad Ripple Rockets. The Eagles are members of the Circle City Conference.

Head Coach Griff Roth and the Hauser Jets (12-6, 6-0 MHC) are riding high after Thursday’s win over conference rival Southwestern. With the victory, Hauser remained undefeated in Indiana’s Mid-Hoosier Conference, and took home the MHC Conference Championship. The Jets led 31-16 at the half before defeating the Spartans, 64-33. Now Hauser must take care of business at home as the regular season winds down, and sectionals approach.
