Indianapolis, IN – The Indiana Fever (3-23) will host the Dallas Wings (14-12) on Breast Health Awareness Night in their first game back since the All-Star break. The Fever will be dawning their special pink themed uniforms to commemorate the night as spectators will have a chance to bid on the game worn jersey’s in the BHA auction.
With Indiana being out of the race for playoff contention, the Fever’s focus for the remainder of the season is to win as many games as possible and continue to compete at a high level. Indiana’s youth coupled with their seasoned veterans has boded well for the franchise’s future as players continue to develop.
For tonight’s matchup, the Fever will have to put a stop to Dallas’ Liz Cambage and Skylar Diggins-Smith if they are to have any success. Defensive stops and rebounds will be key. The Wings are coming off a tough one-point loss to Chicago on Tuesday, and will look to get out ahead against Indiana. Cambage finished with 33 points and 13 rebounds while Allisha Gray was just shy of a triple-double with 12 points, 10 assists, and eight rebounds for Dallas. The Minnesota Lynx (15-10) and the Los Angeles Sparks (15-11) will also return to action tonight in what’s become a marquee rivalry in the league. The Lynx who finished the first half of the season on a three game win streak, look to continue their success as they put together a series of games to lock down a playoff spot. Leading Minnesota will be 3x All-Star MVP, Maya Moore and company. The Sparks are hoping to find their rhythm after the break, after dropping some close games beforehand. Los Angeles will be challenged along the way as the team fights without two of their stars – Nneka Ogwumike and Alana Beard – both of whom are questionable for tonight’s matchup.
