Tonight the Seattle Storm (17-6) and the Connecticut Sun (12-11) lead off a three-game schedule for the W. Still clinging to the best record in the league, the Storm have won back to back games most recently against Chicago. Seattle came away with the 101-83 victory behind All-Stars Breanna Stewart and Jewell Loyd. Stewart who has been among this seasons favored MVP candidates, posted 30 points and nine rebounds while her teammate grabbed a double-double. Loyd finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists. The Sun will be eager for a victory after losing a last second nail-biter to the Atlanta Dream. Jonquel Jones led Connecticut in the 86-83 loss to Atlanta with 19 points and seven rebounds. Alyssa Thomas also added 12 points and 10 rebounds. Dallas (14-9) continues to make waves as they head to Chicago for a 9 PM ET tip-off. The Sky (7-16) will try to put an end to their four-game skid as they host the Wings at Wintrust Arena. Chicago fell to Seattle on Wednesday after falling behind in the second quarter, despite a balanced scoring effort from the team. Allie Quigley led the Sky with 18 points, while Stefanie Dolson, Diamond DeShields, and Kahleah Copper all tallied 14 points in the loss. The Wings continue to impress as they defeated the Washington Mystics yesterday behind Liz Cambage. Cambage had another strong performace to lead her team to victory with 35 points and 17 rebounds. Concluding Friday night’s action is the Los Angeles Sparks (14-9) and Indiana Fever (2-21). The Sparks look to build on their victory over the Aces as their three All-Stars continue to lead L.A. through the remainder of the season. Candace Parker finished with a near triple-double last game tallying 34 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists. Chelsea Gray and Nneka Ogwumike also added 22 and 15 points, respectively. The Fever will try to kick a five-game losing streak and earn their third win of the season against L.A. Tonight’s game also marks the return of Cappie Pondexter to Staples Center since being dealt to Indiana. The veteran guard has added leadership among other things to her new squad as she tallied 10 points in the loss to Minnesota. Candice Dupree led Indiana with 20 points.
