Los Angeles, Calif., – The Dallas Wings (11-8) will take on the Los Angeles Sparks (13-8) at the Staples Center this afternoon at 3:30 PM ET. This will be their third and final meeting of the regular season as the two teams battle it out in L.A.
The streaking Wings have won four games straight and look to add a fifth, as Dallas continues to climb the rankings as a team to be reckoned with. The Wings are coming off a 29-point victory over the Phoenix Mercury after a balanced scoring effort led by Skylar Diggins-Smith. Smith tallied 20 points in the win while, Aerial Powers and Azura Stevens added 18 and 15 points, respectively. Center Liz Cambage also pitched in 13 points while Glory Johnson led the Wings’ rebounding effort with nine boards. If the Wings are to continue their success, they’ll have to come prepared for the Sparks’ lock down defense.
Los Angeles stole an overtime win on Tuesday against the top ranked Storm, after the defense managed to hold Seattle to just six points in the fourth quarter. The Sparks would go on to win behind an amazing effort from veteran Candace Parker, who was just shy of a triple-double. Parker finished with 21 points, 10 assists, nine rebounds, and four steals. Essence Carsons also added 18 points in the win, while Nneka Ogwumike tallied 14 points and nine rebounds over the Storm. Will the Sparks have an answer for the Dallas duo of Liz Cambage and Skylar Diggins-Smith? Tune in and find out this afternoon on WNBA League Pass.
