July 6, 2018 – Thursday night’s WNBA action was full of record breaking across the league, as Rebekkah Brunson and Diana Taurasi made history.

In their matchup against rival Los Angeles, Rebekkah Brunson grabbed 12 boards to surpass Lisa Leslie (3,307) and Tamika Catchings (3,316) to become the WNBA’s All-Time Leading Rebounder with 3,317. Brunson would also add 15 points to help Minnesota (11-7) to an 83-72 victory.

In Phoenix, the Mercury (14-5) congratulated long time vet Diana Taurasi as she became the league’s leader in All-Time Field Goals Made with 2,631, surpassing Tina Thompson. Taurasi would drop 25 points alongside Brittney Griner’s 23 points to give the Mercury the 84-77 win over Connecticut, and move into sole possession of first place in league standings.

In Arlington, Dallas (9-8) closed out a three game homestand with consecutive victories as the Wings defeated the Indiana Fever (2-17), 90-63. Indiana would trail the entire game getting only as close as 47-36 early in the third. The Wings had a monster night on the boards taking a 20-5 advantage in the first half, before winning the battle overall, 47-22. Rookie Azura Stevens scored a career-high 26 points, while Indiana’s Candice Dupree matched a season high with 21 points.

Tonight’s sole game features the Atlanta Dream (8-8) and the Seattle Storm (13-5) on WNBA League Pass at 7 PM ET. The Storm will be chasing their fourth straight victory, after a 77-62 road win against New York on Tuesday. Breanna Stewart and Jewell Loyd scored 21 points each to pace Seattle in that win. The Dream return home after pulling off an 87-83 victory over Indiana on Sunday on the road. Brittney Sykes led Atlanta with 20 points and seven assists. Tiffany Hayes and Angel McCoughtry added 19 and 15 points, respectively for the Dream. Be sure to check out the game tonight on League Pass.
