The Magicians and the Bulldogs previously met, Nov. 11, in the Conference Challenge, hosted by LOC, in which the Magicians came up short in a 66-58 scrap. Looking to return the favor and steal one on the road, the Magicians made sure to bring their A-game.

In a back-and-forth battle, both the Magicians and the Bulldogs wouldn’t let up, trading basket for basket in the first half. LOC made a 13-0 run late in the first, to go up 28-23, before Union had a run of their own (6-0) to lead 46-43 at intermission.

With a win in sight, the Magicians looked to extend their 82-74 lead, as time began to wind down. But Union’s Nick Velasquez, had other plans; draining a three-ball (with :14 secs. left) to pull the Bulldogs to within one, 84-83. The Magicians were able to secure the ‘W’ in the final minutes, cashing out at the charity stripe as they shot 95% from the FT line on the evening. An LOC victory, 88-84.
