PHOENIX, AZ — After a catastrophic season opener that ended in a 48 point rout (124-76), the Suns (0-1) look to redeem themselves at home as they prepare to take on the Lake Show (0-1).
The Suns were led by Eric Bledsoe and Devin Booker in Wednesday’s loss, with 15 and 12 points, respectively. Rookies Josh Jackson and the undrafted Mike James, made their NBA debuts contributing 11 and 12 points, respectively.
Both teams hungry for their first win of the season, the updated Lakers and talk of the town Rookie Lonzo Ball, took their first loss on opening night (108-92) against the Clippers.
Ball got the traditional, “Welcome to the League, Rook” treatment as he was harassed by Clippers newcomer, Patrick Beverly from the jump. Ball dished out 4 assists, grabbed 9 boards, and finished with 3 points.
Sporting his new Lakers jersey, Brook Lopez led the squad with 20 points going perfect from the (freethrow) line. Larry Nance, Jr., Brandon Ingram, and Jordan Clarkson also finished in double figures, as the Lakers aim to live up to higher expectations this season.
