Memphis Madness

With every new season, comes change.

From summer to fall, when the leaves on the trees go from those rich green, to stunning shades of yellow, orange, and red; then fall to winter. Now I know what you’re thinking, (especially you Indiana Hoosiers) with winter comes snow, sleet, rain, and ice. But throughout all of these winter woes, there’s one thing that makes it all worth it: BASKETBALL!

As several teams across the country prepare for the 2017-2018 season, there’s no better way to kick-off basketball in Tennessee, than right here in Memphis! Welcome to #MEMPHISMADNESS!

Memphis Madness is the University of Memphis’ (UofM) introduction to the Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams, as well as the university’s Cheer & Pom squads. This epic night held at the FedExForum, was full of life, rowdiness, and spirit as Tiger Fans showed us their Stripes. College students, families and Memphians were in for a treat from the Mighty Sound of the South (marching band), Slam Dunk Competition, Skills Challenge, and more!

During the Autograph session, fans got the chance to meet & greet players from the Men’s team (@memphis_mbb), Women’s team (@memphiswbb), and their coaches: Head Coach Tubby Smith, and Head Coach Melissa McFerrin.

With the home opener for both teams right around the corner, all will be watching and rooting for the Tigers of Memphis.

Check out photos from the nights festivities and the 2017-18 season schedules on the UofM Athletics page. Be sure to keep it locked for more sports coverage in the Bluff City here at RKS.
