The Dallas Wings (14-16) face the Connecticut Sun (19-10) tonight at Mohegan Sun Arena, as the Wings look to keep their playoff hopes alive in the first of a three game road trip.
With just four games left in the regualr season, these next three road games will be critical for the Wings, who are currently tied with the Seattle Storm (14-16) for the seventh and eighth playoff spots. Having won the season series 2-1 this season, the Storm have the tie-breaker to seed them higher. Despite coming off a home win over Atlanta Saturday, Dallas has their work cut out for them tonight as the team will be without Glory Johnson, their second leading scorer, due to a one-game suspension. Johnson scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the Aug. 12 meeting against Connecticut.
The Sun who appear to have locked in their No. 3 seed in league standings for the playoffs, were overjoyed Sunday in the 94-69 win over Phoenix. Having already clinched a playoff berth, this win was extra special as the Sun will not only be returning to postseason play since 2012, but are now guaranteed a playoff game in front of their home crowd. Jonquel Jones and Alyssa Thomas led the Sun with 20 and 17 points, respectively, in Sunday’s victory.
