The streaking Connecticut Sun (17-9) head to McCamish Pavilion to take on the Atlanta Dream (10-18) in their third and final meeting of the regular season.
With this season series tied, both teams will be hungry for a victory, but for different reasons. Connecticut has secured their playoff berth and are looking to stay hot after rolling off five straight home wins. The Sun cruised to a 104-71 victory the last time they saw the Dream, with five players from Connecticut scoring in double figures. In their most recent win over Dallas, both Alyssa Thomas and Jonquel Jones had double-doubles as the Sun beat the Wings 96-88. Thomas scored 21 points and a career-high 13 rebounds, while Jones added 19 points and 16 boards. Courtney Williams also finished with 19 points.
Desperate for a win, Atlanta has just six games left on their regular season schedule to try and move up the ranks for that eighth and final playoff spot. Sitting at No.10 in league standings, the Dream have struggled to finish games dropping seven in a row. In Saturday’s loss to San Antonio, the Dream were led by Brittney Sykes with 28 points, and Elizabeth Williams finished with 16.
