Sparks, Liberty Game Preview

The Los Angeles Sparks (19-7) visit the New York Liberty (14-12) at Madison Square Garden this afternoon at 3:00 p.m. ET.

Los Angeles defeated the Liberty back on Aug.4 in an 87-74 victory at Staples Center. Looking to sweep New York in this season series, the Sparks will use the momentum of Friday’s win over the Minnesota Lynx to secure another road win as they approach the latter half of a five-game road trip. The Sparks held the Lynx to just 8 points in the third quarter, as Chelsea Gray led the way with 23 points. Candace Parker finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds.

New York enters today’s contest after two straight wins. On Friday, the Liberty pulled out an 83-77 win over Atlanta after the Dream cut it to just one in the fourth quarter. Shavonte Zellous had a game-high 20 points, and Tina Charles tallied 15 points and 8 rebounds for the win.
