Liberty, Dream Game Preview

The New York Liberty (13-12) head to McCamish Pavilion to take on the Atlanta Dream (10-16) as the two battle it out in their third and final meeting of the regular season.

After splitting this season series 1-1, both teams are looking to finish out the season strong and secure a playoff berth. The Liberty who are coming off an 81-76 victory over Indiana, are currently in sixth place in the league standings. With just nine games left on their regular season schedule, New York hopes to get a ‘W’ tonight, before facing Los Angeles Sunday. Tina Charles scored 26 points in Tuesday’s victory and Shavonte Zellous added 16.

Atlanta, currently ranked ninth in league standings, is fighting to stay in the race for the eight and final playoff spot. However, the Dream are struggling down the stretch as they have dropped five games straight coming in to tonight’s contest. Three of those losses were at the hands of top ranked Minnesota, who defeated Atlanta 81-72 on Tuesday. Elizabeth Williams scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the loss, while Tiffany Hayes and Layshia Clarendon each added 13 points.
