The Los Angeles Sparks (17-6) will host the New York Liberty (12-11) at Staples Center in just their second meeting of the season.
Back in May, the Sparks defeated New York 90-75, where Nneka Ogwumike and Candace Parker combined for 42 of the teams points. The Sparks are hoping to stay hot with their three-game win streak and keep up their efforts on the home-front, before embarking on a five-game road trip Sunday. In their most recent win over Dallas, Parker and Ogwumike scored 23 and 22 points, respectively. Chelsea Gray also added 16 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds on the night.
New York is coming off a surprising loss to San Antonio, who went on a 22-4 run to beat the Liberty 93-81 on Tuesday night. Bria Hartley anchored the team with 17 points, while Sugar Rodgers tallied 16 points in the loss. Tina Charles and Shavonte Zellous each finished with 13. The Liberty aim to close out their road trip with a win before heading home to face the Indiana Fever on August 8.
