Dream, Lynx Game Preview

The Atlanta Dream (10-13) head to Saint Paul, Minnesota to take on the Lynx (19-2) at Xcel Energy Center at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Atlanta faced the Lynx back on July 28, where they came up short falling 90-80, despite closing the gap at halftime. Since, the Dream have dropped another close game; this time against the Washington Mystics who led midway through the first quarter and never looked back. In the 77-70 loss, the Dream’s Elizabeth Williams was the top scorer with 18 points, followed by Brittney Sykes with 14. Layshia Clarendon also added 11 points and 10 assists on the evening.

On Monday, Atlanta announced a trade that sent forward Jordan Hooper and its 2018 First-Round pick to the Chicago Sky for center Imani Boyette, forward Tamera Young, and the Sky’s 2018 Second Round pick. Young who was the longest tenured Sky player, will make her return to where it all began as she was the first pick in Dream history, after being drafted 8th overall in the 2008 WNBA Draft. Boyette is in her second year in the league, and is averaging 4.6 ppg and 4.4 rpg.

With the best record in the league and a ticket to the playoffs clinched, Minnesota aims to stay poised and finish out the regular season strong. Keeping their win streak alive the Lynx defeated Seattle on Sunday, where three players reached double-digits. Sylvia Fowles who was named Western Conference Player of the Month for the third consecutive month, led the way with 29 points and added 12 rebounds in the victory. Maya Moore and Rebekkah Brunson tallied 24 and 20 points, respectively.
