Stars, Mercury Game Preview

Hoping to avoid a sweep in this season series, the San Antonio Stars (3-20) will face the Phoenix Mercury (12-10) at Talking Stick Resort Arena.

The Stars have had a trying season this year dropping games to almost every team in the league. Nevertheless, they continue to press on improving as they go. Coming off an 85-73 home loss to Los Angeles, the Stars look to get a win on the road before preparing for a three-game homestand starting Tuesday. Kayla McBride led the way Friday with 20 points in the loss to L.A.

The Phoenix Mercury who are still without Brittney Griner, finally snapped their four-game losing streak on Friday, with a win over Chicago. Griner could return in mid-August, but thanks to Phoenix reserves stepping up, the Mercury look to get back on task as they prepare for a three-game road trip. In Friday’s win, Camille Little went for 19, while Monique Currie added 18 points. Center Cayla George also posted career-highs with 14 points and 14 rebounds in the teams victory.

Check out tonight’s match-up at 6:00 p.m. ET, on WNBA League Pass.
