Sparks, Stars Game Preview

The defending champs, the Los Angeles Sparks (15-6) will take on the San Antonio Stars (3-19) tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET, in the AT&T Center.

The Sparks who have won three of their last four home games, recently defeated the Seattle Storm on Tuesday, 68-60. Los Angeles’ bench outscored Seattle’s reserves 25-2 in the game as the Sparks would claim the season series 2-1. Candace Parker led the way with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Jantel Lavender and Nneka Ogwumike added 14 and 13, respectively.

San Antonio who is the only team to go without consecutive victories this season, took another loss Tuesday, to open the second half of the season against the Washington Mystics. The Stars got behind early on scoring just 9 points in the opening quarter–a season low for any quarter this season. Despite a late push in the game, the Stars fell 85-76. Kelsey Plum and Dearica Hamby each tallied 15 points, while Kayla McBride added 12.
